Easter break began with a speeding ticket down the blue route. And, if then, I would have known how true & wonderful this break would be, I would have been driving home even faster. Because, after a historic Pennsylvanian winter, April had a glitch and went all June on us.
Earthy and loving. It was the Mourning Dove's surviving chick and it was an air filled home. It was sprawling city parks, Eleanor & Aris, pale cheeks finding warmth, evening baths with just enough light from a small window. Letters, packages from friends only separated by distance. Words, like: "...prayers that you and Spense fall in love over and over this Spring, that good supportive people surround you." It was neighbors that become friends that become family- leaving to meet their child for the first time.
It reminded me of my 10-year-old self. Bare foot when I shouldn't be, finding so much joy from the smallest nooks of life. I often consider what my young self would think of me today.
Spring on Quince Street is a storybook filled with rhyme, fresh illustrations and characters brimming with knowledge and past. I want to invest in their stories, and share them with you. But, for now-- some scenery captured via iphone and our Canon.
